What types of clothing items should I bring?
We highly recommend bringing a pair of comfortable shoes and ensuring you have at least seven days’ worth of comfortable clothing, including pajamas and undergarments. This ensures your comfort and convenience during your stay with us.
Can I bring personal belongings?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring family photos, favorite blankets, books, keepsakes, and other personal items that make your room feel comfortable and familiar during your stay.

Do you offer short term rehabilitation?
Yes. At Crystal Ridge Care Center, we prioritize your successful recovery and safe return home. Our rehabilitation team provides personalized physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy, helping patients regain strength, mobility, communication, and independence following illness, injury, or surgery.
When will the doctor see me?
Upon admission, our standard protocol ensures that doctors typically visit our senior residents within 24 hours. Your assigned nurse will facilitate effective communication regarding any medical concerns with your doctor both before and after their visit, ensuring comprehensive care and timely attention to your needs.
How often will I have therapy?
Upon admission, most patients will begin rehabilitation within 24 hours, tailored to their condition and admission timing. Our therapy sessions are available up to 5 times per week, ensuring timely and comprehensive care to support your recovery journey. Your therapy schedule is individualized based on your physician’s recommendations and clinical needs.
Do I need to bring my medications?
No, there is no need for you to provide medications unless explicitly instructed otherwise. Upon admission, we take the initiative to order your medications through our trusted off-site pharmacy. Subsequently, we securely store them on-site, prioritizing safety and ensuring seamless access when needed.
How long is a typical stay?
At Crystal Ridge Care Center, we recognize that every patient’s journey is distinct and requires personalized attention. Our Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), consisting of nurses, therapists, and dietitians, conducts weekly reviews to assess patient progress comprehensively. Our primary objective is to empower you to achieve your highest level of independence through tailored care and support.

We provide a diverse range of thoughtfully planned daily activities catering to a variety of interests. Residents enjoy everything from classic car shows and gardening projects to games, fitness classes, live entertainment, celebrations, and community outings. You’ll find an activity calendar conveniently posted in your room, and our Activities Director is always happy to help you find programs you’ll enjoy.

At Crystal Ridge Care Center, we take pride in our comprehensive dining program, overseen by our dedicated full-time, in-house registered dietitian. Expect tailored diets designed to meet your individual needs and preferences, ensuring a fulfilling dining experience that promotes your overall well-being.

What insurances do you accept?
We take pride in our ability to accommodate various payment options, including private pay, Medicare, Medi-Cal, as well as an extensive array of insurances and HMOs such as Hill Physicians, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross, Veterans Administration (VA) and many others. As the only VA-contracted skilled nursing facility in Nevada County, we are proud to serve eligible veterans and help them understand their available benefits. Regardless of your insurance provider, our admissions team is committed to helping you understand your coverage.
How do you protect patients, staff, and visitors from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases?
Our team is highly trained in infection prevention and caring for patients with complex medical needs. We follow the latest guidance from public health authorities and the CDC to maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Our dedicated infection prevention nurse helps ensure current best practices are followed through staff education, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ongoing monitoring of infection control protocols.
